Jump The Weight Off With Jump Rope!
When was the last time you used jump rope? Now it’s probably the time to jump off some extra weight with it.
Jumping rope is one of the best forms of exercise. It burns a lot of calories, is easy and fun, and can be done at home without expensive equipment.
Jumping rope torches as many calories as running. It won’t put your knees under stress and will loosen up your shoulders.
Have you ever wondered how Michelle Obama got such shapely shoulders? And,
It could have been by employing a jump rope workout in her fitness routine! Because jumping rope burns fat fast, it also contributes to getting a lean fit body.
Fitness experts classify jumping rope as an “excellent” fat burner. According to the National Institute of Health, jumping rope burns approximately 750 calories per hour. This is much more than any other traditional workout except running.
What’s more, you can easily burn additional calories by jumping faster. The faster you jump, the more calories you burn.
So what makes jumping rope better than running?
- It involves the use of more parts of the body. It tones more muscles and burns more calories than running alone.
- Jumping rope takes far less time than running and achieves nearly the same results.
- It also requires less space and can be done at any time of the day. Running at night can be hazardous, but one can jump rope right at home.
- Generally, if one runs a lot, he needs often-expensive running shoes. Jumping rope has no such requirements, only a five dollar rope. If that’s too much, it’s certainly not difficult to make a jump rope for even less.
If you’re tired of the gym, going for a run, or home exercise equipment, you may want to opt for jump rope. A regular jumping rope routine will help you develop your fitness coordination and agility. It’ll target your calves, thighs, and buttocks.
“Most people usually think of jumping rope as being a lower extremity exercise, which it is, but what doesn’t come to mind is that the constant turning of the rope is a great upper body workout at the same time,” says Marty Winkler, President of RopeSport and author of the soon-to-be-released ‘RopeSport: The Ultimate Jump Rope.’
Don’t expect to jump for an hour the first time you grab a rope! “As a general rule I’d suggest starting out by jumping 3-4 times a week for 15-20 minutes and increasing frequency, duration and intensity as your skill level and stamina improves,” says Marty Winkler
If you start right now, with only 10 to 15 minutes, for to five times a week — you can be FIT BY CHRISTMAS! In fact, if you start now, you’ll see amazing results even before Thanksgiving!
