Pumpkin Seeds To Benefit Prostate Health
Not enough can be said about the healing power of pumpkin seeds for prostate health! It seems hard to believe, doesn’t it? Why do these little seeds have such a profound effect on prostate problems?
The sexual benefits of pumpkin seeds are actually pretty well known across most of Europe and China but for some reason they haven’t captured quite as much main stream attention to the rest of the world.
It is believed that a component in the seed helps stop the over-production of prostate cells and with it the enlargement process (BPH benign prostatic hyperplasia).
This relationship is not fully understood at the moment, but the carotenoids and omega 3 fatty acids found in pumpkin seeds are believed to be among some of the active compounds required for good prostate health.
Pumpkin seeds help to promote overall prostate health and alleviate the difficult urination associated with an enlarged prostate. And,
Listen to what these health super chargers hold inside their hard little casings…
Phosphorous: A critical nutrient for maintaining healthy erections and a vigorously strong libido… Phosphorous is one of the most underrated pro-sexual nutrients around.
Zinc: Is a critical component in your body’s ability to maintain peak levels of the sex hormone testosterone. Zinc is also key component for healthy sperm production in men and is the life blood of a healthy functioning prostate.
Magnesium: Not only is Magnesium a key component for optimum sexual function… it’s also one of the most effective prostate health supporters you can find.
Pumpkin seeds provide 92% of the daily requirement of magnesium. It’s difficult to find a food with high magnesium content.1/2 cup of pumpkin seeds contains 92% of your daily value of magnesium, a mineral in which most Americans are deficient.
But besides these three sexual dynamos… pumpkin seeds are also an excellent source of the amino acid myosin… an essential component for strong muscular contractions and energy.
Not only that… but it appears that pumpkin sees also contain a fair amount of Omega-3 fatty acids… a nutrient research confirms is an essential component for optimum heart health.
Pumpkin seeds contain almost half the zinc, copper, and iron the body needs in a day. Researchers believe that carotenoids, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids present in pumpkin seeds give the seeds their prostate protection property.
An equally important debate is the best way to take the seeds in our diet. Do we use pumpkin seed oil extract or do we just eat the seeds as a snack – sprinkled on food or simply just to eat them as they come.
I personally prefer the latter because I enjoy the taste and the texture. But the question still remains as to how much of the seeds you have to consume in order to get the same health benefits as you would from the concentrated oil extract.
Perhaps one day we may get the answer. I personally think that if the seeds are eaten daily as part of a good and varied diet, then your prostate will be the better for it.
So give pumpkin seeds a try, won’t you?
